Safety Director for Degerstrom Converters, operating a coal calciner
manufacturing "Coke Plant" for Monsanto in Rock Springs WY. Duties include but not limited
to; Managed and maintained the
following; Plant site Emergency Action Plan and
Preparedness programs. write and update all safety
programs. all employee training and records. all plant chemical inventory, on
site chemicals data base including MSDS and "Right To Know"
stations. Perform employee annual safety
training as well as new hire safety training that included but not limited
to; A - Z OSHA Safety Programs example;
Asbestos Awareness, Bloodborne Pathogens, Confined Space, First Aid/CPR, Hot
Work, JSA, Hearing Prevention, PPE ex. Monitored, managed and maintained
all permitting, safety equipment inspections and heavy equipment inspections. Lead in all near miss incidents,
first aid, incident/accident analysis, environmental spills and clean up,
corrective and preventitive actions and accidents investigations as well as
employee PPE as well as budget. Plant Site Inspections with Wy State
Mine Inspector, OSHA, Company and Monsanto,incident and accident reporting
and records keeping, man-hours worked and or lost time reporting for both
monthly and annual reporting requirements. SPCC inspections, prevention plan,
corrective actions and environmental requirements along with record keeping, plant site Emergency Fire
Extinguisher monthly and annual inspections, emergency impairment permitting
and repair/replacement actions and records keeping, plant site emergency equipment
including calibrations, inspections and impairment permiting/repair orders
for the following emergency equipment; Gas monitors Emergency Lights Emergency Showers Eye wash Stations Atmospheric Monitors Plant Rescue and medical 1st aid
stations AED and accessories Emergency Conveyor flag switch Rail Road Blue flag Maintained all employee, new
employee and sub contractors medical files. employee and new employee PFT
testing and records. Maintained, managed and preformed
both quarterly and annual employee Respirator qualitative and PFT fit testing
and records keeping, new employee and employee annual
physicals, hearing testing and records keeping, plant site compliance audits and
records keeping, Performed and maintained employee
work performance safety audits and records keeping. Safety Committee Chairman lead for
monthly and quarterly Safety Committee meetings with employees and plant site
upper management personal. Included minutes recording, committee records
keeping and postings, incident and accident analysis
writing and reporting, Implemented immediate corrective
actions for all near miss, incident or accident. Duties also included; Continuous "Safety Over
Watch" on all employees and all subcontractors preforming any and or all
tasks on Monsanto plant property. Overseen plant site security at all
times along with maintaining all records keeping. Computer skills that include; Word Perfect Outlook Excel Power Point Spread Sheet Data entry Writing Incident and Accident
Analysis reporting. I started my Safety Career in 1992
as a Safety Supervisor Contractor for an AMACO plant "shutdown". In 1992 I also joined the Fire Dept.
and after five years was promoted to 4th Luiet. Safety Officer, which I held
for the next six years leaving in 2003. Over the last 20 years I have done
